Theodore J. Rosenthal
Independent Human-in-the-Loop Simulation Advisor
Previously at Systems Technology, Inc.
Introduction
I provide independent advisory services in human-in-the-loop simulation, with particular emphasis on driving simulation and applied human behavior research. I work with industry and research organizations to help ensure simulation studies are well-designed, results are interpreted appropriately, and conclusions support sound technical and program decisions.
Areas of focus
Human-in-the-loop and driving simulation design
Study validity, fidelity, and transfer considerations
Experimental design and protocol review
Interpretation of human performance and behavioral data
Second-opinion reviews of simulation results and assumptions
Bridging communication between engineers, researchers, and decision-makers
How I work
Engagements are typically advisory and collaborative, ranging from short consultations to periodic reviews or ongoing strategic support. I work alongside internal teams to assess assumptions, identify risks, and ensure simulation outcomes are used appropriately—particularly when results inform real-world system design, safety, or policy decisions.
Background
I bring decades of experience supporting human-in-the-loop systems, including driving simulation and applied behavioral research. My background spans long-term stewardship of simulation platforms, client-facing technical leadership, and advising programs where human behavior and complex systems intersect.
